Friesian

Friesian PulletPros: Very good on free range. Excellent layer.
Cons: Flighty
Eggs: Very good layer of small, white eggs

Friesians are very attractive birds which are ideal for a free range environment as they are very good foragers and are alert to predators. They are quite small and don't eat as much as many of the pure breeds as they will supplement their own diets by free ranging if given enough space

Friesian Hen and CockerekThey are often flighty so may not be the best breed for you if you are looking for a friendly bird which will allow you to pet it and pick it up. However if you are looking for a tough, attractive hen which will lay lots of eggs the Friesian is a very good choice.

We keep chamois penclled frieisan fowl - which have buff feathers with white pencilling on the edges.
