Dutch bantams are one of the smallest breeds of chicken commonly kept in the UK. They are good layers and good broodies. As they are light they can be good fliers and so some thought should be given to the height of their run.
Dutch bantams are generally friendly and calm so they make a good choice for those starting out in chicken keeping or for children as their size makes them easy to handle.
The small size of dutch bantams makes them suitable for keeping in even the smallest garden. They come in a myriad of beautiful colours- black, white, millefleur, lemon millefleur.
We keep our dutch bantams in a mixed colour flock- they produce some very pretty coloured chicks.
